New Delhi: WhatsApp is working to introduce a new feature that will let both iOS and Android users set cover photos on WhatsApp profiles, similar to what Facebook users can already do. According to WABetaInfo, a beta tracker of WhatsApp, the feature is under development for WhatsApp Business profiles and the feature may not be available for non-business WhatsApp accounts.

"WhatsApp is working on a new feature that allows setting a cover photo for your profile. Actually, this feature is under development on WhatsApp Business, and it’s not planned for standard WhatsApp user accounts. When the feature is enabled for beta testers, there will be some changes in your Business profile settings," WABetaInfo wrote on its page.

The WhatsApp beta tracker posted a screenshot, and according to that, the Meta-owned messaging platform is planning to introduce a camera button in their Business Settings and through that users can select a photo or take a new one to use as the cover photo. When other people (including standard WhatsApp user accounts) visit their business profile, they will be able to see the cover photo.

"Even if the screenshot is taken from WhatsApp Business for iOS, WhatsApp is planning to introduce the same feature on WhatsApp Business for Android as well. Since the feature is under development, there isn’t a known release date, but a new story will be out on this website when the feature is available for beta testers," WABetaInfo added.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, the beta WhatsApp tracker had said that the Meta-owned chat platform may also introduce a feature that would extend the "delete for everyone" time limit to more than two days from the current time limit.
