WhatsApp, the world's most popular messaging platform is working to introduce a new "Official Chat" feature for tips and tricks alongside important security settings, in a bid to help users protect their accounts. The Meta-owned messaging platform is rolling out an official chat wherein users would get tricks and tips, via a Google Play Beta programme. According to WhatsApp updates attacker WabetaInfo, with this official chat, WhatsApp aims to keep users informed about the latest updates implemented in the app, as well as provide them with information regarding the latest security settings they should adopt to protect their accounts.

WabetaInfo has also shared a screenshot on its page where the interface of the official WhatsApp chat seems to have been changed, thus, making it more intuitive for those who open it for the first time.

"WhatsApp has plans to let you know what’s new through this conversation by sharing tips and tricks to make the app even better. Users are still in control over this conversation as they can always archive or block the official chat. The first message is about the two-step verification, one of the most important features that allows users to protect their accounts.

"With the two-step verification, you can add an extra layer of security to your account by choosing a PIN that will be asked after the 6-digit registration code. Learn more about how to enable two-step verification for your WhatsApp account by visiting the official article about this feature," WabetaInfo wrote on its page.
