Weeks after introducing quick emojis as reactions to messages, Meta-owned WhatsApp on Monday announced any emojis can be used as a reaction on the world's most popular chat platform. Company CEO Mark Zuckerberg made the announcement through a Facebook post and also posted his favourite emojis. This is something that we have seen the company already doing for Instagram.
"We're rolling out the ability to use any emoji as a reaction on WhatsApp. Some of my favorites: 🤖🍟🏄♂️😎💯👊," Zuckerberg wrote in a Facebook post.
How to use any emoji as a reaction to messages on WhatsApp
If a user wants to use any emoji as a reaction on WhatsApp, they have to long-press on a message, tap on the "+" button and choose an emoji through the full list of emojis and pick the emoji of their choice.
WhatsApp, meanwhile, is working to introduce a feature that may soon let users hide their online status. There will be an ability to hide online status from specific contacts or groups on the world's most popular chat platform soon, according to WABetaInfo. The beta WhatsApp tracker mentioned earlier this month that it would be soon possible for users on the platform to hide who can see their online status using two new options: Everyone and Same as Last Seen.
"And yes, if you’re here you already know what the announcement is about: WhatsApp is finally listening to user feedback by developing a feature that lets users choose who can see when they are online on WhatsApp, available in a future update!," WABetaInfo wrote on its page.
