The ability to pin chats allows you to keep important conversations at the top of your chat list for easy access. However, there may come a time when you no longer need a chat pinned and want to unpin it. In this step-by-step guide, we will walk you through the process of first pinning a chat and then unpinning it in WhatsApp.


How To Pin A Chat In WhatsApp




  • Open WhatsApp on your phone.




  • Once the app is opened then navigate to the 'Chats' tab which will be located at the bottom of the screen. This will display all your current chats and conversations.




  • Scroll through your chats to locate the chat that you want to pin.




  • Long-press on the chat that you want to pin. This action will bring up a menu with various options related to the chat.




  • From the menu options that appear after long-pressing the chat, select the 'Pin chat' option. This will pin the chat at the top of your chat list.



  • Pinned chats will have a small pin icon next to them, indicating that they are pinned to the top of the chat list.


How To Unpin A Chat In WhatsApp




  • Open WhatsApp on your phone.




  • Once the app is opened then navigate to the 'Chats' tab which will be located at the bottom of the screen. This will display all your current chats and conversations.



  • At the top of your 'Chat' list, you will see the pinned chats.


  • Long-press on the chat that you want to upin. This action will bring up a menu with various options related to the chat.



  • From the menu options that appear after long-pressing the chat, select the 'Unpin Chat' option. This will unpin the chat from the top of your chat list to its actual place.
