Twitter users who wish to buy the Twitter Blue subscription would now get a chance to get it at a slightly cheaper cost, courtesy of Twitter's new decision to price the Twitter Blue subscription annual plan for web users at a cheaper price. The discounted Twitter Blue subscription price for web users is currently available in the US, Canada, the UK, Japan, New Zealand and Australia, according to the micro-blogging platform.
Elon Musk-owned Twitter has said it would price Twitter Blue subscription for Android at $11 per month, which is the same as for iOS device users, while offering a cheaper annual plan for web users when compared to monthly charges. For example, web users in the US will have to pay $8 per month for a subscription and $84 annually while Android and iOS subscribers will have to shell out $11 each month for the Twitter Blue subscription, Twitter wrote on its help page.
"All Twitter Blue features will be available immediately except the blue checkmark, which may take time to appear to ensure review of subscribed accounts meet all requirements," Twitter added on its help page.
"In addition to the blue checkmark, Twitter Blue features offer subscribers a way to enhance and customise their Twitter experience. These powerful controls are designed to help personalise Twitter, and give early access to our newest features before they’re available to everyone. Share your feedback @TwitterBlue," the company noted.
Some new features, which may soon be available for Twitter Blue subscribers include their tweets being prioritised to help fight scams and spam, seeing 50 per cent fewer advertisements than non-verified people, ability to post longer videos to the micro-blogging site and getting early access to select new features with Twitter Blue Labs.
