Apple AR/VR Headset Details Leaked Ahead Of WWDC 2023
With Apple set to host this year's iteration of the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2023 on June 5 where company CEO Tim Cook is likely to start the event with his keynote speech, the details of its much-awaited AR/VR headset have leaked ahead of the purported launch. Apple's XR headset is likely to have micro-OLED displays with a peak brightness of more than 5,000 nits, according to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants. The leaked peak brightness in the display of Apple's XR headset is much higher than an iPhone 14 Pro's panel with a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits.
As expected, a major highlight of this WWDC 2023 will be Apple's MR headset even as we have had scarce information about the headset for many years.

Now, Use WhatsApp On Multiple iPhones Simultaneously
Meta-owned WhatsApp is giving iPhone users the ability to use one WhatsApp account on multiple devices. Almost a month after launching "Companion Mode" which lets Android users link their WhatsApp accounts on multiple devices, the same feature is being rolled out for iOS users. According to WhatsApp updates tracker WABetaInfo, as per the official changelog for the latest WhatsApp for iOS 23.10.76 update available on the App Store, WhatsApp is finally releasing the ability to link an iPhone as a second device for everyone.
Last month, WhatsApp announced a feature that allows users to use the same account on multiple phones. This feature essentially enables users to send and receive calls and messages across all their devices while maintaining the same level of privacy and security.

Xiaomi, Noida's Dixon Partner To Manufacture Phones
Handset maker Xiaomi and Noida-headquartered contract manufacturer Dixon Technologies have joined hands, with an aim to manufacture mobile phones for exporting, media reports say. Representatives from both firms have met Minister of State for IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar with the proposed initiative. This comes in the wake of India encouraging IT hardware manufacturers to manufacture devices locally.
Earlier this week, the handset maker and Noida-based Optiemus Electronics Limited (OEL) announced a collaboration to start the production of Xiaomi's first manufactured audio product within the country.
Twitter-Rival Bluesky, Backed By Ex-CEO Jack Dorsey, Surpasses 100,000 Users
Bluesky, a Twitter competitor backed by ex-CEO Jack Dorsey, has surpassed 100,000 users and has accumulated a total of 3.19 million posts, indicating steady growth. Initially launched as an invite-only platform, Bluesky was made available to Android users and was introduced to iOS users in February through a closed beta phase. The app offers a range of new features and aims to provide users with algorithmic choices. It includes basic tools such as tracking likes or bookmarks, editing tweets, quote-tweeting, direct messaging (DMs), using hashtags, and more.

China's Smartwatch Shipments Decline To Lowest In 3 Years
China's smartwatch shipments declined to the lowest in 12 quarters as the market did not fully recover in the first quarter after the country’s reopening, a new report has said. According to Counterpoint Research’s Global Smartwatch Model Tracker report, China’s smartwatch shipments declined 28 per cent YoY and 16 per cent QoQ in the first quarter (Q1) of 2023 to reach their lowest in 12 quarters. The top three smartwatch brands in China were Huawei, Apple and BBK (imoo).
Twitter Worth Nearly Third Of Musk's Acquisition Price
Elon Musk has publicly acknowledged that he overpaid for his acquisition of Twitter, which he purchased for a total of $44 billion, including $33.5 billion in equity. Interestingly, Musk has recently stated that Twitter is actually worth less than half of what he initially paid for it, reported Bloomberg. The reasons behind Fidelity's decision to reevaluate the valuation of Twitter and whether they have access to non-public information from the company remain unclear.
