New Delhi: Trinamool Congress' Twitter account was hacked, reported news agency ANI on Tuesday.  A tweet appeared on the page which said: "#DidirSurakshakawach is a mammoth effort at securing basic sustenance for every resident in Bengal, irrespective of age, gender, caste or religion. To achieve state-wide inclusive growth & expand welfare cover, Didir Doots are generating awareness across households." 


The name of the page was changed to 'Yuga Labs' while the display picture was also changed. 


In December last year, Twitter handle of Ministry of Jal Shakti was reported to be hacked after suspicious tweets appeared on its page. The account was later restored which had appered to made series of tweets tagging around 80 bot accounts. 






Earlier in October 2022, Keral governor Arif Mohammed Khan's Facebook profile was hacked and in May, a similar incident occurred with Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury . A purported tweet was sent from his account containing an infamous quote of Rajiv Gandhi that was connected to the 1984 riots, which was later deleted. 


The Congress leader had claimed that his Twitter account was compromised and had reported the matter to Delhi Police and had filed a complaint. 


Bharatiya Janata Party national president Jagat Prakash Nadda's Twitter account was hacked in February and it featured tweets on crypto donations. The account name was changed to "ICG OWNS INDIA". Certain tweets inviting crypto donations for Ukraine aid also appeared on the profile.

"Stand with the people of Ukraine now accepting cryptocurrency donations Bitcoin and Ethereum," a tweet on JP Nadda's Twitter account read. Another tweet written in Hindi claimed that the account was not hacked and all donations would go to the Ukrainian government.


In January last year, the Twitter account of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting was briefly compromised. The hackers changed the name of the account to ‘Elon Musk’ and put out tweets including one saying “great job”. They also posted malicious links in the tweets.
