Sonos, the American premium home audio brand, has ventured into the headphone market with the launch of its maiden headphones, Sonos Ace. These headphones promise comfort, durability, and high audio quality, catering to users who prioritise both functionality and sustainability. Taking on the likes of Apple AirPods Max and Bose QuietComfort Ultra, the Sonos Ace headphones use lightweight materials and soft memory foam encased in vegan leather. Their fold-flat design ensures they are easy to store and transport.

Priced at $449 (roughly Rs 38,000), the Sonos Ace headphones are available for pre-order on the Sonos website.



They will be officially hit the stores on June 5 and are offered in Black and White colour options. No information yet on when the headphones are expected to hit the Indian market.

The Sonos Ace headphones come equipped with custom 40mm dynamic audio drivers and support for spatial audio, including Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 Reality Audio. They feature active noise cancellation and an Aware mode for ambient sound awareness.


The headphones offer a substantial 30-hour battery life, with rapid charging that provides three hours of playback from just a three-minute charge. Connectivity options include both USB-C and 3.5mm, with Bluetooth v5.4 ensuring high-quality wireless playback. The Ace headphones also incorporate wear-detection technology that pauses playback when removed, conserving battery life.


Additionally, they are compatible with both Apple and Android devices and can be controlled via the Sonos App.


Sonos has also emphasised sustainability by designing the headphones with replaceable ear cushions and using materials that reduce plastic consumption by 17 per cent. The travel case accompanying the headphones is made from 75 per cent recycled plastic bottles, highlighting the company’s commitment to eco-friendly practices.


Energy efficiency is a key feature of the Sonos Ace. The headphones include wear-detection technology that pauses playback when removed, conserving battery life. Audio performance is enhanced by custom 40mm dynamic drivers in each ear cup. Additionally, eight integrated microphones provide active noise cancellation and an Aware mode for ambient sound.


The Sonos Ace supports Bluetooth 5.4 and the aptX codec for high-quality wireless audio, and it comes with a 3.5mm to USB-C cable for those who prefer lossless wired listening. Users can enjoy spatial audio through Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 Reality Audio, available on various streaming platforms. The headphones also offer Dolby Head Tracking, which delivers dynamic surround sound and allows for seamless audio transitions between the Ace and the Sonos Arc soundbar.


Boasting a battery life of up to 30 hours, the Sonos Ace also features rapid charging capabilities, providing three hours of playback with just a three-minute charge. Later this year, Sonos is set to introduce TrueCinema technology, promising an even more immersive surround sound experience.
