Chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani on Monday said at the company's annual general meeting (AGM) that Jio Platforms will lead in developing India-specific AI models and AI-powered solutions across domains amid the AI revolution reshaping the world. He mentioned that AI is rapidly growing and has an impact on almost every sector. The company is working towards strengthening its talent pool in order to assimilate the global innovations around AI, especially Generative AI. He added that Jio Platforms will create 2000MW of AI-ready computing capacity across Edge and Cloud locations.


"A global AI revolution is reshaping the world around us and sooner than we think, intelligent applications will redefine and revolutionise economies, industries and even our daily lives. To stay globally competitive, India must harness AI for growth, innovation and national prosperity," said Ambani.


At the AGM 2023, Ambani also announced that Jio AirFibre will be launched on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi next month. The telecom operator also unveiled JioBharat V2 a 4G phone with support for UPI payments. It is aimed at enabling citizens to get direct benefit transfers, as 25 crore Indians are still on 2G.

Manufactured by homegrown Karbonn, the JioBharat V2 phone's price is set at Rs 999. The smartphone comes in two colour options — Ash Blue and Solo Black. Starting 12pm today (August 28), JioBharat V2 is available to purchase on Jio.com and other e-commerce platforms including Amazon India. 



Chairman of Reliance Jio, Akash Ambani, announced Jio True5G Developer platform. He termed it as a comprehensive platform combining 5G network, edge computing and a spectrum of applications and services.


"We are also announcing Jio True5G Lab, a facility designed to accelerate industry transformation. The inaugural Jio True5G Lab will be located at Reliance Corporate Park," he added.
