The Opera One Browser has received a major update on the iOS platform, marking a substantial transformation. Initially launched in 2023, the browser has undergone extensive beta testing over the past several months. Users can now choose from various navigation modes, including the innovative carousel view designed specifically for iPhones. Opera had first revealed its plans to create an AI-powered alternative to Safari in January 2024, setting the stage for this release.
In a recent blog post, Opera announced that the forthcoming iOS version of its browser would feature Aria, the company’s AI assistant. This integration is expected to streamline web searches, as well as simplify text and image generation tasks. The image creation capabilities are driven by Google DeepMind’s Imagen 2 text-to-image algorithm, allowing users to produce images through simple commands. The updated browser also supports voice commands, enabling users to conduct searches and interact with the browser more efficiently.

A unique feature of the Opera One browser is its ability to adapt to the color scheme of a webpage, aligning the top and bottom status bars with the page's hue. Additionally, it introduces a new carousel that seamlessly integrates news, live scores, and product recommendations into the wallpaper background, enhancing the user experience.
The new design also includes a feature that hides the top and bottom menu bars, providing users with an unobstructed view of the webpage while scrolling. This update offers three navigation options: Bottom Search, Fast Action Button, and Standard Navigation, catering to different user preferences.
Another innovative addition is the swipe-to-search gesture, which allows users to access a search bar by simply swiping down, similar to the iPhone’s Spotlight search function. This new version of the web browser is now available for download on the Apple App Store, offering users a sophisticated and AI-enhanced browsing experience.
