New Delhi: Days after a OnePlus Nord 2 allegedly blasted in its user's pocket and the user suffered severe burns, the handset maker has now come forward to provide for the medical expenses of the victim and also issued a refund for the device. The Nord 2 smartphone that had reportedly blasted has been sent to OnePlus' service centre in Pune.

The handset maker's India operations head has been in touch with the victim for further help too. According to a report in MySmartPrice, the refund for the blasted device has already been issued.

The incident came to light few days back when a Twitter user named Suhit Sharma posted a string of images of a badly charred OnePlus Nord 2 device. The Twitter user, whose handle is @suhitrulz, also posted an image of the victim's severely burnt thigh. "@OnePlus_IN  Never expected this from you #OnePlusNord2Blast see what your product have done. Please be prepared for the consequences. Stop playing with peoples life. Because of you that boy is suffering contact asap," Suhit Sharma recently tweeted from his handle.

His tweet has been liked by 10,000 users so far and retweeted by more than 4,700 Twitteratis.

Meanwhile, the handset maker has not revealed any details in the matter. The Twitter user who highlighted the incident on Twitter has not mentioned the compensation details. What he had mentioned was that the company was in 'constant touch'.

This incident comes close to the heels of the launch of OnePlus' next smartphone in the Nord series - the Nord 2 Pac-Man Edition. OnePlus is slated to launch the OnePlus Nord 2 Pac-Man edition soon in India as it officially teased the launch of a new device in the country last week.

The handset maker had also teased about the arrival of the new smartphone via its other social media handles. The upcoming device will be a modified variant of the OnePlus Nord 2. However, most of the specifications of the Pac-Man edition of the OnePlus Nord 2 are likely to be the same as the plain Nord 2 that was launched earlier this year. According to a new leak, the Pac-Man Edition of OnePlus Nord 2 will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset instead of the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chip that was used in the regular Nord 2.
