After the successful completion of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, cabinet ministers are now taking oath one by one. The ex-Minister of Electronics and Information Technology has retained his fort. Ashwini Vaishnaw took oath as the new Minister of Electronics and Information Technology in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 3.0 Cabinet. Apart from the Information Technology Ministry, he has also taken oath as the Union Minister for the Ministry of Railways as well as the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Vaishnaw is not the only minister to retain his ministry though. Apart from him, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Minister S Jaishankar, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, have also retained their ministries, as per the ANI.

Modi Cabinet 3.0 Retains PM's Core Team And Key Ministries
Prime Minister Narendra Modi retained 34 ministers from his second council of ministers, including 19 with Cabinet positions. Among those sworn in again were key figures such as Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S Jaishankar, considered PM Modi's core team. These senior leaders have kept their previous portfolios, indicating a clear continuity in governance under NDA 3.0.
Annapurna Devi is the only minister promoted from Minister of State to Cabinet rank. Despite losing the Lok Sabha election, L Murugan retained his position in the council of ministers due to his Rajya Sabha membership.
Several ministers have been reinstated after a hiatus, including BJP chief J P Nadda, who served during Modi's first term. Jual Oram and Ajay Tamta, both former ministers, have also made a comeback.
