Global fabless semiconductor major MediaTek, which fuels nearly 2 billion connected devices annually, on Monday reiterated its commitment to propelling the adoption of future-ready technologies in areas such as 5G, Generative AI (egnAI), satellite connectivity, automotive, Cloud computing, connectivity, and advanced 5G solutions for 5G FWA. The semiconductor behemoth also announced a collaboration with chipset maker Nvidia to establish a comprehensive global hub for the automotive industry. Together, they aim to design the next generation of intelligent, always-connected vehicles, incorporating cutting-edge AI, connectivity and computing capabilities.


This was was highlighted at the 13th edition of the MediaTek Technology Diaries, themed "Powering Incredible Experiences with Futuristic Technologies". MediaTek also explained the technology behind its Dimensity 9300 SoC which will power the upcoming Vivo X100 Pro, and Mediatek 8300 chipset. Both the chipsets integrate generative AI capabilities.


As per the company, MediaTek Dimensity Auto comprises a suite of innovative automotive solutions, featuring a comprehensive portfolio that includes Dimensity Auto Cockpit, Dimensity Auto Connect, Dimensity Auto Drive, and Dimensity Auto Components. These elements collectively empower innovation in smart vehicle technology.

MediaTek is also going to leverage Meta’s Llama 2 large language model and the chipset major intends to build a complete edge computing ecosystem designed for accelerating AI application development on smartphones, IoT, vehicles, smart homes and other edge devices.
