Microsoft CEO and Chairman Satya Nadella has said that LinkedIn now has 100 million or 10 crore members in India, which is an increase of 19 per cent YoY. LinkedIn's revenue increased 8 per cent in the March quarter.

During the company's third quarter (Q3) 2023 earnings call, Nadella said: "Member growth accelerated for the seventh consecutive quarter as we expanded to new audiences. We now have 100 million members in India, up 19 per cent.

The Microsoft-owned professional networking platform witnessed a record engagement in the March quarter as more than 930 million members globally turned to the professional social network to connect, learn, sell and get hired. As Gen Z enters the workforce, "We saw 73 per cent year-over-year increase in the number of student sign-ups," Nadella added.

Meanwhile, LinkedIn's Talent Solutions continues to help hirers connect to job seekers and professionals to build the skills they need to access opportunities.

"Our hiring business took share for the third consecutive quarter. The excitement around AI is creating new opportunities across every function from marketing, sales and finance to software development and security," noted the Microsoft CEO.

To recall, Microsoft had acquired LinkedIn for more than $26 billion in 2016.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, Microsoft-owned LinkedIn started rolling out new ways for individuals to verify their identity and where they work. LinkedIn said its users will be given three additional ways to verify their identity as well as their workplace's identity.

The platform introduced new AI-powered features, including writing suggestions for member profiles and job descriptions and collaborative articles.

In a bid to provide verification for its members in the US, LinkedIn is partnering with CLEAR, a secure identity platform. Starting this month, users can display on their profile that they verified their identity with CLEAR and to do so, all they need is a US government-issued ID and phone number.
