Instagram Threads, the Twitter rival has lost more than half of its followers, after witnessing an initial boost. According to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the retention on Instagram Threads was "better than what the executives had expected, but it was not perfect", the media has reported. Zuckerberg was quoted as saying in a report that Instagram Threads has lost more than half of its users.


"Obviously, if you have more than 100 million people sign up, ideally it would be awesome if all of them or even half of them stuck around. We're not there yet," Zuckerberg was quoted as saying by news agency Reuters. Despite losing more than half of its followers, the Meta CEO is optimistic about the future of Threads, stating that the drop in users is "normal". Zuckerberg expressed confidence in the potential for improved retention rates as the company continues to add new features to the app.
