New Delhi: Popular photo-sharing app Instagram suffered an outage across India on Wednesday, May 25. Instagram was down in several cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow and Indore among others, as per outage detection site Downdetector.com.

The Meta-owned platform was not working for many users with several reporting feeds not refreshing and many others reporting not being able to login to the app. Many Instagram users took to Twitter to confirm the outage and also vent their ire. There is no official acknowledgement from Instagram on the outage.

According to DownDetector, several Instagram users were unable to use services since 9:45 am on May 25. At the time of writing this story, the Instagram issue still persisted. However, Instagram is not glitching for all users and it is working just fine for some, ABP Live has confirmed.

This is not the first time Instagram is hit by an outage and users are unable to login to the app. The Meta-owned company has earlier faced multiple outages with the recent one taking place last month. On April 19, Tuesday, Instagram had suffered a similar outage that lasted for a couple of hours and Instagram users had posted about the issue on Twitter.

In other Instagram-related news, the platform started rolling out new three new features in April. Adam Mosseri, Instagram head, took to Twitter and mentioned that these changes are meant to “make sure that credit is going to those who deserve it”. The three new features that Instagram is introducing include enhanced tags, ranking for originality, and product tags.
