India Influencer Governing Council (IIGC) was launched around 10 days back to address concerns around transparency, fair compensation, and content authenticity. Since its launch, it has received over 100s of membership requests, and dozens of media coverages - including national Print coverages. The board advisor requests have been increasing too and overall it has received positive responses from everywhere.

Key Issues That IIGC Will Address
IIGC will work towards:
- Transparency in Brand Collaborations – Ensuring that paid promotions are clearly disclosed to consumers.
- Fair Compensation for Influencers – Advocating for standard rates and fair payment structures.
- Content Credibility & Fact-Checking – Taking a consumer-first approach to curb misinformation.
- Responsible Marketing Practices – Encouraging brands to prioritize authentic engagement over vanity metrics.
Influencer Rajeev Makhni while talking about how IIGC will help consumers said, “When an influencer promotes everything, credibility is lost. IIGC will help bring back authenticity and trust.”
Why Was IIGC Formed?
This council was founded with a mission to empower creators, advocate for fair policies, and promote responsible content creation. At present, there are more than 65 board advisors and the council consists of top influencers, brand marketers, and agency leaders.
The body will primarily be focusing on bridging the gap between influencers, brands, consumers, agencies, and government regulators to ensure compliance and innovation in the sector.
Who’s Leading IIGC
The body is headed by Sahil Chopra, Founder and CEO of iCubesWire, who is serving as the Chairman. Other founding key members include:
