Our Aadhaar cards have become an essential part of our lives. From our biometrics to our bank accounts, everything is linked to that. The combination of 12 digits written on our Aadhaar cards serves as the proof of not just our identity but also our address. It has become indispensable in the past few years. This crucial piece of document is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). The Indian government suggests people to update their Aadhaar card every 10 years for the purpose of revalidating it.

Many batches of Aadhaar cards were a decade back and now the central government is urging those people to get their details updated. In order to increase the efficiency of this drive, the Indian government is allowing people to get it updated for free till September 14.

At the moment it is unclear whether UIDAI will extend this deadline further or not hence, it might be wise to get it updated now itself in this free drive. Otherwise, you will have to pay a standard fee of Rs 50 to get it updated.
