Google has recently unveiled three new features for its video communication service, Meet. The features will make the boring meetings more engaging and personalised. These features have already started to roll out, promising a more dynamic experience for everyone. Let us have a look at what these new additions are and how they can make meetings interesting for us.

Multiple Video Effects

The first feature brings a wide range of video effects that can be applied on both the web as well as on mobile devices. One can combine these with filter effects and create a dynamic and fun atmosphere during the calls. There is a new layer icon on your self-view tile which will help you in keeping track of the effects being used. One can easily remove one or all effects at once.

Backgrounds: You will be able to explore new backgrounds including blurred backgrounds, your uploaded or company-uploaded backgrounds, and much more.

Filters: You can sort through filters by category, such as funny filters, accessories, costumes, and characters.

Nailing The Professional Look With Studio Lighting

The second feature which you will now get with Duet AI for Google Workspace Enterprise add-on, introduces studio lighting on the web. With this feature, one can simulate studio-quality lighting which will give them control over lighting position, brightness, and colour to ensure they look their best. Notably, an eligible device is required for this feature's initial launch.

Audio Quality Enhanced With Studio Sound

This feature is also available with the Duet AI for Google Workspace Enterprise add-on. This feature when used automatically improves audio quality from typical Bluetooth headsets and dial-in participants by using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to recreate higher audio frequencies. It is currently available for web and dial-in meetings. However, it is expected to support the mobile Meet app in the coming weeks as well.
