Google Doodle Today: Google has been celebrating the Paris Paralympic Games 2024 since its inception, and the tech giant has continued its tradition. Google on Sunday released a new animated Google Doodle to celebrate Athletics at the Paris Paralympic Games 2024. Google while posting this Doodle wrote, "On your marks, get set, go! It’s time to take to the track and field for the Para Athletics event." The themes for today's Google Doodle are Sports, the Summer Games, and the Paralympics.

In today's Google Doodle, three Paralympic themed birds were seen competing for the win on a tricycle. The birds were seen rotating the wheels of their vehicle with full force to drive it at their maximum speed.

Paris Games 2024: History Of Athletics


The word “athlete” comes from the Greek terms “Athlos” and “Athlon,” which translate to “one who competes for a prize.” Evidence of organised athletic competitions in ancient Greece can be found in the 23rd book of Homer’s Iliad, where Achilles holds funeral games to honour his deceased companion, slain by Hector in the Trojan War.


The contemporary Olympic Games have their origins in these early Greek sporting events. Historians often trace the beginnings of athletics back to the 9th century BC, with running, jumping, and throwing events being some of the earliest forms of sport, potentially dating back to prehistoric times.

Earlier on Saturday, Google released a Google Doodle dedicated to the Paris Paralympic Games 2024. This Google Doodle celebrates the 2024 Paralympics by featuring the Most Searched Playground: Paris 2024, a search-and-find game for the 2024 Summer Games.


Google while posting this Doodle wrote, "Today’s Doodle celebrates the 2024 Paralympic Games with a revival of our Most Searched Playground, a search-and-find game featuring 20 of the most searched sports, French icons, and more. A few extra surprises are also hidden around this Playground, so stay curious as you explore!"
