New Delhi: As the race in the metaverse space heats up, Samsung has become the latest brand to announce that its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, where it will officially launch its flagship Galaxy S22 lineup, will be accessible in both virtual reality and actual reality. Samsung's most anticipated event of the year -- the Unpacked event last year, had taken place a month before, where the flagship Galaxy S21 series and other products were unveiled in full glory.
This year, the Galaxy S22 lineup and other products will be unveiled not only virtually via YouTube and Samsung's website but also through the metaverse. To watch the Unpacked in metaverse, enthusiasts and others can head to “Samsung 837X” which is a virtual space where people can watch a 2D Samsung Unpacked event. They can also see Samsung's flagship New York City experience centre that is recreated within virtual reality platform Decentraland as well as collect NFTs.
"To visit 837X, you will first need to connect with Decentraland. Once you’re online, your avatar will be dropped right outside of our spectacular virtual 837X building. From there, you can enter the doors and immerse yourself in 837X," the company wrote on its page.
"...you can earn collectible NFT badges and exclusive, limited-supply collections of Samsung Decentraland wearables to customize your avatars. Metaverse is a blockchain-supported fully functional virtual universe that has caught the attention of almost all tech giants, primarily Meta (formerly Facebook), Microsoft, retail giant Walmart and so on.
Meanwhile, the South Korean tech giant had earlier hinted at the revival of the Galaxy Note. The super-premium of the lot, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, may have a lot of similarities with the Galaxy Note. "At Unpacked in February 2022, we’ll introduce you to the most noteworthy S series device we’ve ever created. The next generation of Galaxy S is here, bringing together the greatest experiences of our Samsung Galaxy into one ultimate device," TM Roh, President and Head of MX Business, Samsung, had written in a blog post.
