New Delhi: The long-awaited Pixel smartwatch from Google is likely to see the light of the day soon, according to famed leakster Evan Blass. The tipster, in a tweet, has hinted that Pixel Rohan's launch is imminent. Rohan is a codename that has been associated with the first smartwatch Google has been making.


Blass tweeted an image of Pixal Rohan with Wear OS 3.1 that read: "Won't be long now." With Google set to host its Google I/O event in less than a month, Blass' tip makes more sense than ever. It is also likely that the first Pixel Watch arrives with Wear OS' latest version 3.1. It is yet to be known what features will the Google Pixel Rohan smartwatch will come with to compete with the likes of the industry-leading Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy smartwatch series.

Google is likely to be working in partnership with Samsung for the Wear OS platform and the Pixel Rohan Watch may use the collaboration to the fullest and become an alternative to the widely popular Apple Watch Series, Samsung Galaxy smartwatches, and a bevy of Android smartwatches out there.


Meanwhile, Google's annual I/O event is set to take place on May 11 and May 12 and it will take place fully online and its registrations started in the middle of March. However, according to Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google, some of the event will be streamed live from the Shoreline Amphitheatre, a frequent Google I/O venue.

This year, at the Google I/O 2022, the tech behemoth is expected to announce the next major update to Android OS, Android 13, its new software experiences and even unveil a line of hardware products. Among other expected announcements are updated around Wear OS.
