Google has been unsuccessful in keeping its unreleased Pixel phones under wraps and the Pixel 8 Pro is no exception, as we have got the first look at the purported flagship Pixel 8 Pro phone, courtesy of leaked photos on Reddit. The leaked image of the Google Pixel 8 Pro gives a clear idea of the front and rear of the flagship device. However, the leaked photos were removed quickly from Reddit, but Droidlife could grab a copy before they were removed. According to the hands-on images of a Google Pixel 8 Pro test unit, the phone houses a bigger camera housing and flat screen.
The leaked image is clearly a prototype as it has been labeled "for test/evaluation only". The "product revision" field shows "husky", a codename that is known to belong to the Pixel 8 Pro. This prototype features 12GB of Samsung LPDDR5 RAM along with 128GB of UFS storage by SK Hynix.

To recall, renders of the Google Pixel 8 Pro were leaked in March, showing off a similar design. The device had made its first unofficial appearance in an internal leaked Google video back in May.
Meanwhile, the upcoming Google Pixel 8 series is likely to get upgrades in terms of fast charging and battery. The Google Pixel 8 lineup is said to come with bigger batteries and faster charging speeds than last year's Pixel 7 lineup. Even as wired charging is likely to get a bump, wireless charging on the purported Pixel 8 phones is expected to remain the same. There are smartphone makers such as OnePlus and Oppo that provide insane charging speeds for their phones, but Google still chooses to ship Pixel phones with 23W of wired charging support. Last year's Pixel 7 lineup supports 23W charging speed.

The upcoming Google Pixel 8 lineup is also likely to get a small boost in battery capacity as well. The Pixel 8 could come with a 4,485mAh battery vs. the Pixel 7's 4,270mAh battery while the bigger and pricier Pixel 8 Pro is likely to come with a more modest bump of 24mAh to 4,950mAh.
Meanwhile, seems like Google is following Apple's footsteps in India as the subsidiary of tech behemoth Alphabet Inc., is looking to establish partnerships with Indian suppliers for the local manufacturing of its Pixel smartphones. With this, Google would join the likes of global tech giants to locally manufacture products in India.
