Oppo Reno 12 Pro, Reno 12 Specs And Features

The Oppo Reno 12 has a spacious 6.7-inch OLED display, offering Full HD+ clarity with a resolution of 2412×1080 pixels. This screen can achieve an impressive peak brightness of 1200 nits, ensuring clear visibility even in bright outdoor conditions. For durability, the Reno 12 is equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. In contrast, its more premium sibling, the Reno 12 Pro, benefits from the enhanced protection of Gorilla Glass Victus 2, providing even greater resistance to scratches and impacts.

The Reno 12 and 12 Pro both feature MediaTek's Dimensity 7300 chipset, a processor built on an advanced 4nm manufacturing process. This chip works in tandem with the Mali-G615 MC2 graphics unit to deliver smooth performance. The Pro model offers more generous memory options, supporting up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and a maximum of 512GB USF 3.1 storage.

Users can further expand the Pro's storage capacity to 1TB using a microSD card. In comparison, the standard Reno 12 comes with a more modest 8GB of RAM and tops out at 512GB of internal storage, catering to users with less demanding storage needs.

Reno 12 Series Camera Details

The Reno 12 lineup comes preloaded with the latest Android 14 OS, enhanced by custom ColorOS 14.1. Oppo is pledging three years of major OS updates and an extended four-year period for security patches, ensuring the devices remain current and secure well into the future.

In terms of photography capabilities, the Reno 12 boasts a versatile triple-camera configuration. The primary shooter uses a high-resolution 50MP Sony LYT 600 sensor, complemented by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens for capturing broader scenes, and a 2MP macro sensor for close-up shots. For selfies and video calls, the front of the device houses a capable 32MP GC32E2 sensor, allowing for high-quality self-portraits and clear video communication.

The Reno 12 Pro shares some camera features with its sibling but introduces key upgrades. It retains the Sony LYT-600 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and the 8MP ultra-wide angle lens. However, it replaces the macro lens with a more versatile 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto camera, offering 2x optical zoom and up to 20x digital zoom capabilities. This enhancement allows for improved long-range photography.

For selfies, the Pro model steps up to a higher-resolution 50MP Samsung JN5 front-facing camera, promising more detailed self-portraits. Both the Reno 12 and 12 Pro can capture 4K video at 30 frames per second using either the rear camera setup or the front-facing camera, ensuring high-quality video recording options for users.
