Reliance Jio And OnePlus Partner To Set Up 5G Innovation Lab In India

In a bid to give users this experience, both companies are setting up a state-of-the-art 5G Innovation Lab in the country.

Handset maker OnePlus has joined hands with telecom major Reliance Jio in a strategic partnership to "unleash the complete potential of 5G technology" in India. This partnership harnesses the technological innovation and infrastructure of Jio and OnePlus to spearhead new and innovative experiences for users. The partnership intends to provide distinctive features and an outstanding network experience for OnePlus and Jio True 5G users. In a bid to give users this experience, both companies are setting up a state-of-the-art 5G Innovation Lab in the country.

"We believe in pushing the boundaries of what is possible, and this partnership with Jio is a testament to that commitment. This partnership signifies a bold step towards the future of connectivity, where innovation knows no bounds. Together, Jio and OnePlus India are set to redefine the 5G landscape in the country, providing users with a glimpse into the limitless possibilities that lie ahead,” a OnePlus spokesperson said in a statement.

This joint collaboration is set to revolutionise the development and testing of new features and experiences, resulting in faster implementation and delivery to end-users.

“Jio True 5G is the best 5G network in India. Today, Jio True 5G covers the entire country with a robust True 5G network. Eighty-five per cent of the entire 5G deployment in India is made by Jio. It is time to unfold magical 5G experiences for our users and this partnership with OnePlus is a step in that direction. Over the next few months, our users will experience superlative and enhanced gaming, streaming and better usage experience of 5G," a Jio spokesperson said.

Earlier this week, OnePlus launched its OnePlus 12 series globally and in India, after a series of leaks and rumours. OnePlus' newest flagship series, comprising the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R were launched alongside OnePlus Buds 3, the company's third-generation flagship wireless audio earbuds. OnePlus also teased a future OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition, at its "Smooth Beyond Belief" event in New Delhi.

Globally released on January 23, the OnePlus 12R starts at Rs 39,999 for the 8GB/128GB model. The flagship OnePlus 12 is priced at Rs 64,999 for the 12GB/256GB model in India. The OnePlus Buds 3 are available for Rs 5,499. 

Meanwhile, a senior OnePls executive was quoted as saying by news agency IANS that India is a key market for the handset maker and the company aims to set up operations with around 50,000 mainline retailer stores across the country by 2024.
