Handset maker OnePlus on Monday officially revealed the first look of its next Android tablet, the OnePlus Pad Go. The tab is set to be launched only in India on October 6, the company confirmed. The OnePlus Pad Go will mark the expansion of the brand's foray into the affordable tablet segment. As reported earlier, unlike OnePlus' first tab, the OnePlus Pad (read our full review here: OnePlus Pad Review: A Spellbinding First Attempt), the OnePlus Pad Go will be an affordable tablet, which has been confirmed by the handset maker.

The rear design of the OnePlus Pad Go will include two distinct shades of green, coupled with a collage of textures, featuring both a bright matte metal and glossy finish. The shade may be called "Twin Mint".

The OnePlus Pad Go aims to bring the OnePlus ecosystem to a larger user base without having to compromise with the overall user experience or design. It packs in the same design as the OnePlus Pad, which means we can expect an ergonomic and comfortable design. Previous rumours have said that the OnePlus Pad Go will be a watered-down version of the OnePlus Pad which was the company's first Android tab.

"...This includes the curved-edge design, the distinctive green tone, and the centred-camera layout, chosen for its ability to precisely capture the user's perspective. We have retained key design elements to establish a unified visual identity throughout the Pad series," the handset maker said.

According to OnePlus, the OnePlus Pad received an "overwhelming response from consumers" and in response to a discerned market demand for an economical, entertainment-oriented tablet, it will introduce the OnePlus Pad Go.

The Indian tab market is dominated by players such as Samsung, taking the lead, followed by Apple and Lenovo which has a healthy portfolio of tablets. The tab market in India is expected to post a growth of around 5-10 per cent this year, according to a market intelligence firm. The Indian market has seen some really capable devices launching in the past few quarters, such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE, the Galaxy Tab S8, and of course, the Apple iPad Air (2022) Wi-Fi + Cellular. However, these are tablets that offer a rich user experience at a higher price point.
