Nothing is gearing up for the launch of its third smartphone, the Phone 2a, scheduled to debut in the Indian market on March 5, after its showcase at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024. Amid the substantial anticipation surrounding Nothing's devices, CEO Carl Pei has been fueling curiosity through teasers. In a recent revelation, Pei confirmed that the Phone 2a will be produced in India. Contrary to earlier rumours, a leak debunked the speculation that the upcoming Nothing Phone 2a will not be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chip.

Nothing CEO Carl Pei shared a video on X (formerly known as Twitter). While sharing the video, in the caption, he wrote, "SPOILER ALERT! Not the Dimensity 7200."

While initial speculations pointed towards the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset for the Nothing Phone (2a), recent developments suggest otherwise. However, the official details will soon be disclosed. In a post teasing the processor of the Nothing 2a, Pei announced that the revelation would take place today at 10 am in London, translating to 5 am EST and 2 am PST for the US audience, or 3:30 pm India time.

As for potential chipsets, new rumours circulate about a custom-made MediaTek chip for the Phone 2a, potentially named "Dimensity 7200 Ultra." Another possibility is the introduction of the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2, a chipset commonly seen in smartphones within the Rs 40,000 range.
