HMD Global, which was previously selling phones under the brand Nokia, is now all set to launch smartphones with its badge on them. This does not mean that the Nokia brand is dead. Nokia held an event in Barcelona just a day before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 event, in which it announced that Nokia phones will keep hitting the markets and one of them is coming to India in May. HMD is set to launch three devices under its brand name for the first time and will be coming to the global markets — including India — in July.

HMD To Arrive In Indian Markets In July With 3 Devices

HMD is expected to launch two smartphones in July 2024. According to the company, these smartphones focus on "sustainability and repairability." The names of the smartphones have not been revealed yet but they are most probably to be in the affordable budget range and you will be able to repair them quickly without getting separated from them to fix issues like a broken screen.

Ravi Kunwar, Vice President, India & APAC at HMD said, "HMD will have easy repairability and sustainability as part of its brand promise always. We are confident about a strong smart 5G portfolio for India and other markets which we will announce very soon."

Apart from these two, HMD is also working in collaboration with Mattel to launch a Barbie-themed flip phone. At the moment, not much is known about these phones in terms of their specifications.

HMD revealed blurry photos of the smartphones recently. There is a high possibility that these smartphones will come with a dual rear camera setup and an HMD icon at the back of the body. One of the colours that will be made available is grey.
