Cupertino-based Apple had unveiled the "affordable" iPhone SE 2022 for Rs 43,900 in India in March. Now, the model has received a price hike of Rs 6,000, which means the device will now be available at a starting price of Rs 49,900, which is a price category under which competent Android smartphones from OnePlus, Xiaomi and Vivo are available.

For Apple enthusiasts, this may be the right time to buy other advanced iPhone models such as the iPhone 12 or the iPhone 13, thanks to the festive sales that offer deep discounts online.

To recall, the design language of the iPhone SE (2022) has not changed much since its predecessor, but a new addition is the inclusion of 5G support which was available in the pricier iPhone 12 series and the iPhone 13 lineup. The iPhone SE (2022) also has the A15 Bionic chip which is the same processor included in the iPhone 13 series as well as the sixth-gen iPad tablet.

The iPhone SE 5G features a 4.7-inch Retina display with thick bezels which is unlike what we have seen in the new iPhone 13 models. Apple has retained the home button which houses the Touch ID sensor. In terms of cameras, the iPhone SE 5G camera houses a 12MP sensor and runs iOS 15 that is promised to get years of updates. It is being claimed that the new iPhone SE (2022) has the most durable glass on any smartphone; the new model also has IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.
