Buyers can pre-order the newly launched iPhone 15 series in India starting today (September 15). The pre-orders of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple Watch Ultra 2, Apple Watch Series 9 and second-gen AirPods Pro will start in India at 5:30pm IST. As reported earlier, India is among the first lot of countries where people can pre-order the new iPhone 15 series. The iPhone 15 line will be available in the US and India at the same time.


“Customers in more than 40 countries and regions, including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, the UAE, the UK, and the US, will be able to pre-order iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max beginning at 5 a.m. PDT this Friday, September 15, with availability beginning Friday, September 22," Apple had said at its "Wonderlust" event.


Prospective buyers in India can pre-order the iPhone 15 lineup and choose delivery or pickup options supported by Apple Retail only. Apple Retail includes Apple Store BKC (Mumbai), Apple Store Saket and Apple India online store. The iPhone 15 line can also be pre-ordered via e-commerce sites such as Vijay Sales, Flipkart, Croma and Reliance Digital.

iPhone 15 Lineup Pricing And Colours In India


The price of the iPhone 15 Pro starts at Rs 1,34,900 whereas iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,59,900 and the price of the iPhone 15 starts at Rs 79,900 for the 128GB variant while the iPhone 15 Plus, 128 GB model starts at Rs 89,900. The new iPhone models will be available in white titanium, blue titanium, black titanium, and natural titanium colourways in India. The vanilla iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be available in blue, pink, yellow, green and black colours.


For the Pro models, Apple has done away with its iconic "mute button" in favour of a new "Action button" that can be customised to perform tasks such as quickly accessing the camera, or starting a voice recording. The iPhone 15 Pro has been launched with a 6.1-inch display but the Pro Max model has a much bigger 6.7-inch display. According to Misha Scepanovic, the director of optical engineering, the iPhone 15 Pro comes with an advanced 48MP main camera. The camera comes with a new coating to reduce lens flare.

The iPhone 15 comes with an advanced portrait mode for an improved bokeh effect that will use machine learning (ML) to automatically switch to portrait mode when clicking images of animals and human subjects. Apple always used Lightning cables for charging iPhone models but that has changed with the iPhone 15 series. Apple also said that USB-C charging has "become universal".
