During Tuesday's "Let Loose" virtual event, officially launched its highly-anticipated updates for the iPad Pro. The new 13-inch and 11-inch tablets boast a refreshed design, enhanced internal components, and very slim profile. Additionally, they feature a significant display upgrade, with both sizes now equipped with OLED screens, which Apple calls "Tandem OLED" for deeper blacks, vibrant colour saturation and improved contrast.


Notably, the front-facing camera is now positioned in the correct landscape orientation for seamless video calls.


iPad Pro Availability


Starting today, May 7, customers can place orders for the new iPad Pro featuring the M4 chip on via Apple online store and through the Apple Store app in 29 countries and regions, including the US. The device will be available in stores starting Wednesday, May 15.


iPad Pro Specifications And Features


The iPad Pros models use a tandem OLED structure, enabling the display to achieve a peak full-screen brightness of 1,000 nits, matching the Mini LED model, and 1,600 nits for HDR content. Measuring a mere 5.1 millimeters in thickness, the 13-inch model is touted by Apple as its slimmest device ever, with the 11-inch variant coming in at 5.3 millimeters. Apple said that the new iPad Pro is thinner than iPod Nano.


Additionally, for users seeking a matte display finish, a nano-texture glass coating will be offered for the first time with these iPad Pros.


iPad Pro Prices


Both iPad Pro models now come with a base storage of 256GB, with prices beginning at $999 for the 11-inch and $1,299 for the 13-inch variant.


Preorders for both models are open today, and they will be available in stores starting May 15. Fully equipping the 13-inch model with 5G and a nano-texture glass coating will bring the total to $2,599 (excluding accessories)--reaching the pricing territory of high-end laptops, which aligns with Apple's vision of the iPad as a viable laptop replacement more than ever before.
