Apple on Tuesday introduced the 2024 iPad Air lineup, with a novel dual-size offering with the inclusion of a 13-inch variant alongside the updated 11-inch iPad Air model at its much-anticipated "Let Loose" event. Powered by Apple's M2 chip, both tablets come in four vibrant colours including blue, purple, starlight, and space gray.

iPad Air Price And Availability

The 11-inch model starts at $599, while the 13-inch version begins at $799, and both are now available for purchase via Apple's website.

iPad Air Camera Specifications

The latest iPad Air features a single rear 12MP camera lens and a front-facing 12MP camera, maintaining the previous setup. Notably, the front-facing camera is now positioned at the center of the long edge, a configuration I've dubbed the "One True Placement." Additionally, it now supports the Apple Pencil Hover feature, previously exclusive to the iPad Pro.

iPad Air Features And Specifications

The base model of the iPad Air now offers 128GB of storage, doubling the starting storage capacity of the 2022 Air. It continues to utilise Touch ID on the power button and features stereo speakers positioned at both the top and bottom. Additionally, both new iPad Air models are compatible with Apple's existing Magic Keyboard accessories designed for the iPad Pro.

This marks the initial update to the iPad Air lineup since Apple introduced the M1 version two years ago, offering some clarity to the company's diverse tablet range. Now, for those seeking a larger screen without the premium price tag of an iPad Pro, this option is available, along with the added benefit of a wider array of vibrant colour choices.

“So many users — from students, to content creators, to small businesses, and more — love iPad Air for its performance, portability, and versatility, all at an affordable price. Today, iPad Air gets even better,” Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Product Marketing, said in a statement.

“We’re so excited to introduce the redesigned 11-inch and all-new 13-inch iPad Air, offering two sizes for the first time. With its combination of a brilliant Liquid Retina display, the phenomenal performance of the M2 chip, incredible AI capabilities, and its colourful, portable design with support for new accessories, iPad Air is more powerful and versatile than ever.”
