Some users of Google Pixel 8 Pro have observed circular protrusions on various areas of the screen, seemingly caused by pressure on the delicate underside of the 6.7-inch OLED panel, the media has reported. However, the bumps do no seem to have any impact to the protective layer of Gorilla Glass Victus 2 atop. According to a report by 9to5Google, it is likely that the uneven surface the display rests on made the indents. As per teardowns, the positioning of some components have been confimed and they are likely pressing up on the underside of the display of the Pixel devices.
Some of the Pixel users took to Reddit and Google Support forums to raise the issue, the 9to5Google report added. It is being said that several affected Pixel 8 and 8 Pro users were able to successfully replace their phones from Google, in the wake of the noticeable display bumps. Currently, Pixel 8 Pro's touch functionality and image quality are unaffected, and the bumps are inconspicuous unless viewed at the right angle in optimal lighting.
