Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Fold series is anticipated to undergo some upgrade this year. Although concrete hardware specifications for the upcoming "Ultra"-branded Galaxy Z foldable have yet to be disclosed, numerous leaks have surfaced regarding the standard model, currently referred to as the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Now, renowned tech industry insider, Ice Universe, has shared on X, that the camera setup of the Z Fold 6 will mirror that of the Z Fold 5, stating that Samsung had deliberately opted to forego camera upgrades this time. The tipster emphasised, "There will be no difference."

Notably, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 represented primarily an incremental improvement over its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which itself marked a significant advancement from the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra May Get Distinct Cameras

Responding to the original tweet, tipster Universe suggests that Samsung will introduce distinct cameras for the higher-tier Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra model, although specific details remain undisclosed. It is speculated that these cameras may be borrowed from the Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone, Samsung's flagship camera-centric device, as per a previous report.

"The camera configuration of Galaxy Z Fold6 is exactly the same as that of Fold5. Whether it's the rear camera or the front camera or UDC," Universe posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Samsung enthusiasts might struggle to accept this news, considering the minimal feature enhancements in the previous model compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. However, this development is not unexpected. Samsung has been employing a similar approach with its Galaxy S24 series, focusing on SoC or performance upgrades while retaining the hardware specifications of older models. For instance, the camera setup in this year's Galaxy S24 remains unchanged from last year's Galaxy S23 and its predecessor.

Meanwhile, competition, particularly in India, continues to intensify, with recent newcomers like OnePlus introducing book-style foldables alongside existing offerings from Oppo and Motorola. Additionally, Vivo is reportedly set to introduce its Vivo X Fold 3 to the Indian market this year, a slim, camera-focused foldable that was recently unveiled in the Chinese market.
