Apart from new hardware, Apple also made a plethora of announcements on the software front, including the arrival of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, and macOS Ventura. The keynote address was live streamed on June 6 at 10:30pm IST across all official Apple channels. In case you missed it, here are the major announcements Apple made at WWDC 2022.
WWDC 2022 major announcements: iOS 16
iPhone users will finally be able to use lockscreens, thanks to iOS 16. Users will not only be able to customise the fonts and colours, but also be able to configure multiple lockscreens and add widgets as per their needs. Different focus modes can also be assigned to different lockscreens. iOS 16 will also allow you to edit typos out of sent messages, and also recall messages as needed. There are also plenty of changes to explore. You can check out our detailed coverage of iOS 16 here. iOS 16 will be available on iPhone 8 and later models. It is expected to debut with the iPhone 14 later this year.
WWDC 2022 major announcements: iPadOS 16
iPadOS 16 is here to make muti-tasking a lot easier. While it will share several features with the iOS 16 and the new macOS Ventura, it does have several features that Apple hopes will make the iPad a handy replacement for desktop PCs. iPadOS 16 is expected to be released later this year and will be compatible with the regular iPad (fifth generation and later), iPad mini (fifth generation and later), iPad Air (third generation and later), and all iPad Pro models.
