Apple seems to be in the process of making an affordable iteration of its super premium Apple Watch Ultra. This revelation comes courtesy of renders from FCC that have been shared by @ParrotSWD on X, formerly Twitter. "Early Ultras had a black back which looks kinda dope," the user posted on the micro-blogging site. The FCC renders suggest that the rugged design remains, akin to this year's Apple Watch Ultra 2, and also the standard positioning of the digital crown, Action button, microphones and speaker grilles.

According to the FCC renders, the upcoming Apple Watch Ultra was seen in a black ceramic back pane,l reminiscent of the Apple Watch Series 9 and earlier models.

Moreover, the Action button seems to be getting a redesign, and now been crafted from plastic, deviating from the original metallic button found on the Apple Watch Ultra 2. There's a chance that Apple might opt for a different nomenclature for this version, if it sees the light of the day. It's important to note that both the Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Ultra 2 come with a robust aerospace-grade Titanium case, complete with a metal Action button, and a colour-matched ceramic and sapphire crystal back panel.

To recall, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 was unveiled by Apple in September at the company's "Wonderlust" event. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 has the brightest display Apple has ever created, with 3000 nits of brightness. A key highlight of the Watch Ultra 2 is the "night mode" that will automatically activate using the ambient light sensor. The price of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 in India is Rs 89,900.

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is available in 49mm size, and is carbon neutral when paired with a new Trail Loop or Alpine Loop. New band colours are available for the Alpine Loop (blue, indigo, olive), Trail Loop (orange/beige, green/grey, blue/black), and Ocean Band (blue, orange). According to Apple, all new Apple Watch Trail Loop and Alpine Loop bands are carbon neutral and contain over 30 per cent recycled content.

A new watch face designed for Apple Watch Ultra -- Modular Ultra -- takes advantage of the large display, using the outermost edge to present real-time data, including seconds, altitude, or depth. It offers the most complications of any Apple digital watch face to customise for sports, outdoor adventures, and ocean and water activities.
