Following the release of the iPhone 16 series, anticipation is building around the launch of Apple's new Intelligence features. iOS 18.1 will introduce the first batch of these features, with further updates planned in the future. While iOS 18.1 has been in beta testing, Bloomberg reports that Apple is set to officially roll out the update on October 28.
Although it was initially rumored that Apple Intelligence would be launched alongside the iPhone 16 series, the features took longer to finalize. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple focused on extensive testing to ensure a smooth, bug-free experience and is scaling its private cloud infrastructure to accommodate millions of users updating at once.
These Intelligence features will be exclusive to high-end iPhones. Along with the newly launched iPhone 16 series, only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models will support the Apple Intelligence updates.

iOS 18 Rollout Schedule (Expected)
iOS 18.1 is expected to be released by the end of October. iOS 18.2 featuring ChatGPT integration, Genmoji and Image Playground is likely to arrive on your iPhones by the end of this year.
iOS 18.3 and iOS 18.4 is expected to be rolled out by early 2025 with a revamped Siri experience.
Apple Intelligence Features To Arrive By October (Expected)
According to reports, the initial rollout of Apple Intelligence features is set to begin in October. However, only a select number of features will be available this month, with the rest being gradually released throughout 2025. Here’s a look at some of the features arriving in October.
- Writing tools: It will review your texts for spelling, grammar, word choice, and sentence structure errors. Additionally, it can rewrite your content to improve clarity and adjust the tone without changing the message. Tone options include Friendly, Professional, and Concise.
- New Siri: Apple is completely overhauling Siri. Although other features may not be included in this update, a new user interface is set to launch this month. With the redesigned UI, Siri will illuminate all edges rather than just focusing on one area. Additional elements that will utilise Apple Intelligence are expected to arrive at a later date.
- Boost To Photos App: You can easily create a memory movie by providing a simple description, like "Eiffel Tower in 2024" or "Varanasi in the monsoon." The feature then selects relevant photos and music automatically. However, you have the option to customise it using the Memory Mixes feature, or by selecting a mood to influence the audio. Additionally, you can insert specific scenes or images you'd like to include while crafting the prompt for your memory.
- Priority notification: Apple Intelligence will analyse your iPhone notifications and highlight the most important ones, placing them at the top in a new Priority Notifications section. Longer notifications or clusters of notifications will be condensed for easier viewing. This feature will also work with Focus Modes to reduce distractions by ensuring that only essential and pertinent notifications come through.
- Clean up tool: A new Clean Up tool will let you select unwanted parts of an image and use AI to remove them, leaving the main subject untouched. Android users might recognise this feature as Magic Eraser—Apple's version functions in much the same way.
