OpenAI recently launched its new text-to-video AI model, Sora and since the launch, it has garnered quite a lot of attention. Sora allows users to generate up to one-minute-long videos by typing a prompt of their choice in the textbox. Tech enthusiasts jumped at it to brainstorm and come up with some of the most amazing prompts. Twitter chief Elon Musk might not have been much impressed though. Musk threw some major shade at OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
After the release of Sora, Altman shared videos generated by his company's new model. However, Musk shared a screenshot mocking Altman, Sora, and OpenAI on Twitter. The screenshot that Musk shared was of a shocking prompt request that read, “A guy turning a non-profit open source company into a profit-making closed source company.”
The prompt was originally shared by a user named DogeDesigner. Musk's sarcastic post has garnered over 23 million views so far, drawing hilarious responses from Twitter users.
Notably, this is not the first time when Musk has taken a jibe at Altman. Earlier last year, the tech billionaire tweeted, “OpenAI was created as an open source (which is why I named it “Open” AI), non-profit company to serve as a counterweight to Google, but now it has become a closed source, maximum-profit company effectively controlled by Microsoft. Not what I intended at all.”
Netizens Reaction To Musk Trolling Altman
Many people found Musk's tweet hilarious as netizens flooded the platform with hilarious responses. One user wrote, “The guy took it to the next level.” Another said, “X is doing amazing work for humanity and the entertainment industry around the globe.”
A user wrote, “Omg call a doctor someone has been burned.” Another user hilariously wrote, "You know Sam's going to run that prompt privately, it would just be too tempting to see now."
