Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and a vocal endorser of US presidential candidate Donald Trump, launched a scathing critique against Google on Monday, accusing the tech giant of potentially meddling in the presidential election. Musk suggested that Google might be facing significant consequences if such interference is proven.
Did Google Put A Search Ban?
Musk's allegations came via a screenshot he shared, which showed Google search results for “President Donald” returning unrelated suggestions like “President Donald Duck” and “President Donald Regan.” He questioned whether Google had imposed a search ban on former President Donald Trump, who is the leading Republican presidential nominee.
When ABP Live did a check on incognito mode, however, the 'Donald Tump' search query seemed to be appearing without a hitch (at the time of writing). Check out the screenshot below:
One user on X responded by claiming, “Google is owned by Democrats.” Musk echoed this sentiment, warning that Google could be in serious trouble if found to be interfering with the electoral process.
Musk 'Fully Endorses' Trump
Earlier in the month, Donald Trump survived an alleged assassination attempt during a Pennsylvania rally. Following the incident, Musk came out in support of Trump on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), going on to claim, "Last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt."
Musk even demanded the resignation of the head of the Secret Service.
Musk has reportedly also made a significant donation of an amount unknown to America PAC, a group dedicated to getting Donald Trump elected in the upcoming November elections.
