X has set its sight high to eventually become an all in one app. Recently some reports had surfaced according to which X was working to develop an in-app payment system that would rival with the likes of PayPal. A new professional video conferencing tool is also underway, confirmed by Elon Musk, that would compete with the likes of Google Meet, MS Teams, and Zoom. Now, Elon Musk has announced the arrival of a new streaming service called X TV.

One can guess by the name of the service that this new service would let you stream movies and shows from various sources. Musk in a post on X said that the app is now live for Android TVs as well as LG, Amazon Fire TV and Google TV in beta. Musk added that the company aims to bring this app to more devices in the near future.

X TV Service: Here's What We Know

While Musk has yet to reveal a specific launch date for the app, reports indicate that X TV was accessible to Amazon Fire TV users starting in July and became available on LG TVs as of August 29.

The Google Play store listing for the app, also referred to as X-Stream Service TV, highlights its capability to replace traditional set-top boxes by providing a diverse selection of live channels, including movies, music, news, sports, and weather.

The app is rumoured to offer several notable features, such as Replay TV, which allows users to revisit up to 72 hours of content, Startover TV for catching live shows from the beginning if missed, and Free Cloud DVR, enabling up to 100 hours of content recording at no extra cost.

In other news, X recently ceased operations in Brazil following Elon Musk’s refusal to comply with a Supreme Court order related to hate speech.
