Diwali 2022 is being celebrated all across the globe on October 24. Google, which usually celebrates festivities with dedicated Doodles on its Search page, chose to usher in the festival of lights a tad differently this time around. The Search giant has put up an interactive experience, which lets users light up virtual diyas (earthen lamps) to celebrate Diwali.
Diwali 2022 Google Interactive: How to see
To access the Diwali interactive mini-game Google is offering, follow these simple steps:
> Go to Google.com.
> In the Search bar, look up “Diwali”. You can also look up “Diwali 2022”.
> On the top left of the screen, just below the search bar, you will see shiny diya, squiggling for your attention.
> Click on the animated diya.
> Once you do that, the screen will go slightly dark, and eight animated diyas will appear on the screen.
> You’ll notice now that your mouse pointer has been replaced with a lit diya. You can move it around the screen as you please.
> If you take the lit diya near the other diyas, you will be able to light them up one by one.
> Once you light up all the diyas, the screen will be filled with little stars.
> The screen will continue getting brighter and soon you will return to the main Google Search screen.
> You can click on the first diya again to start over.
More of an interactive experience than a mini-game, Google’s virtual Diwali celebration a welcome change from the usual offering of Google Doodles.
Interestingly, Google has put up a special Google Doodle today in Australia and the UK to celebrate the late Aussie country singer Slim Dusty. With a career spanning nearly seven decades, Dusty was honoured with several awards over the years, including being voted A National Treasure by the Australian public.
