Death Stranding 2's official trailer is finally out. As part of the first State of Play of 2024, the developers of the game, Kojima Productions, released a brand-new trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. It boasts an all-star cast of Hollywood and games industry acting talent, including Norman Reedus, Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, Léa Seydoux, and Troy Baker. In the trailer, we get a glimpse of Norman Reedus and an armoury while he is getting a tour of a ship.

His character, Sam Bridges, is working for a civilian outfit named Drawbridge and has a 'generous patron'. Bridges is setting out again to unite the world and bring new areas into the network. He is seen carrying a strange little puppet who is hanging at his side. Notably, the puppet seems to move at a lower frame rate than the rest of the game. Let us dive into the trailer and decipher what all we can expect from the game upon its release.

Death Stranding 2 Trailer

The trailer kicks off with a very disturbing visual showcasing a surgery. The scenario then changes and features numerous environments, suggesting that it will be considerably more ambitious than the previous game. The landscapes vary from deserts to seas and lands giving it a very vibrant feel.

As part of the gameplay, we also get to see a glimpse of Higgs as a robo-samurai character who looks like Sting. He is seen wielding an arc-welder-like electric guitar. We also get a hint of BB-28's fate. A number of other characters make a return.

The trailer also features the return of a villain who has been given a Joker-esque makeover.

This sequel also has an official title now: Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.

Death Stranding 2 was first unveiled in 2022 at The Game Awards. It is coming to the PS5 (at least at launch — the original made its way to the PC and iPhone eventually).
