New Delhi: In what emerges as an alarming news in the middle of the ongoing battle against the novel coronavirus pandemic, the Centre has warned of Covid vaccination OTP scam.

The government has asked the people to be cautious of calls asking them to verify the Aadhar number and OTP for allocation of the coronavirus vaccine.


The government claimed this call from the Drug Authority of India is fake and an act of the miscreants.


“Some #Fraudsters claiming to be from Drug Authority of India are calling senior citizens to confirm their Aadhaar and OTP for #COVID19Vaccine allocation. It is an act of miscreants. Never disclose OTP and personal details to such telecallers. #PIBFactCheck #Unite2FightCorona,” read a tweet posted in the official Twitter handle of PIB FactCheck.


Meanwhile, India in a testament to the successful test-track-treat-test-technology strategy continues on its steady trajectory of reporting a sustained downfall in the daily new cases and consequential decline in the active cases.


India’s active cases today stand at 1,84,408. The share of active cases in the total positive cases has further shrunk to 1.73 percent.


With 15,948 recovered cases in the last 24 hours, a net decline of 1,254 cases has been recorded in the total active cases in last 24 hours. Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal account for 75 percent of the total active cases in the country.
