New Delhi: Battlegrounds Mobile India or BGMI could launch a 'lite' version of the game soon, in a bid to make gameplay easier for those on low-end smartphones. According to the official Discord channel for BGMI, a poll posted on Tuesday asked users to answer why they would want a 'BGMI Lite' game.

Among others is an option that mentioned the inability to play the popular battle royale game on smartphones with lower configurations. Other options included I can’t play BGMI on my low-end device; I can play BGMI, but I’ll have better frame rates and performance in Lite version on my device; I spent money in Lite version and want to transfer my data/inventory; I like the maps and Skins in Lite version.

It should be noted that the poll only hints at a possible launch of BGMI Lite and doesn't confirm anything.

A popular eSports gamer named Abhijeet 'Ghatak' was earlier quoted by SportsKeeda that BGMI Lite version could see the light of the day arrive by the end of December or sooner.

Meanwhile, the much-awaited PUBG New State became available globally, including in India last week for both Android and iOS users after a final technical test. The PUBG New State is set in 2051 and aims to provide a next-generation battle royale experience to smartphone gamers. This is different from the original PUBG game that ran into a big controversy.

Backed and developed by Krafton, the South Korean company, PUBG: New State is a free-to-play next-generation mobile game playable in 17 different languages.

The company mentioned that the new game aims to push the battle royale genre forward through original gameplay features that include, but are not limited to, weapon customisation, the drone store and a player recruitment system.
