New Delhi: In a bid to continue its battle against cheating and illegal activities, BGMI or Battlegrounds Mobile India's parent company Krafton has now banned more than 40,000 cheaters. The company has released a list of BGMI profile names that have been suspended for cheating on the platform between April 11-April 17.
"Dear BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA fans, 41,898 accounts were permanently banned from Apr 11 ~ Apr 17. We would also like to present you the entire list of cheaters who have tried to ruin our Battlegrounds. BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA will strive to implement strong sanctions with the ultimate goal of eradicating the use of illegal programs in order to provide you a pleasant gaming environment," BGMI parent and game developer Krafton said in a statement.
South Korea-based Krafton Inc has been taking strict measures to check illegal activities and it had earlier banned several accounts too. While Krafton taking action against cheating accounts is a good move, it also highlights the menace of cheating and illegal activities that affect the game that continues to be a major concern too.
It should be noted that BGMI's popularity has taken a hit even though it maintains a wide fan base in the country due to the rampant cheating and illegal activities.
Earlier last year, Krafton had announced that it will introduce even stricter measures and had banned several hundreds of devices and not just the associated account that was found to be involved in cheating or hacking the popular battle royale game.
