Apple 'Glowtime' Event: Apple hosted the "It's Glowtime" event on September 9 (Monday), where it unveiled the iPhone 16 series, Apple Watch Series 10, Apple Watch Ultra 2, and a new lineup of Apple AirPods. Apart from the hardware updates, Apple also made some announcements about the software aspect. CEO Tim Cook talked about Apple Intelligence and how it is going to power the iPhone 16 series. As per Apple, the Apple Intelligence is running multiple generative models on the iPhone locally.

Apple's "private cloud compute," powered by servers specifically designed by the company, handles the intensive tasks. Apple Intelligence is completely free for all users of the iPhone 16 series. Interestingly, it was initially exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models.

Apple 'Glowtime' Event: Apple Intelligence Announcements

Apple announced that Apple Intelligence can now analyse inboxes, offering email summaries and adjusting notifications. Important notifications will be prioritised and displayed at the top of your inbox. These improvements also enhance Siri’s ability to comprehend vague requests, assist with tasks on the iPhone, and monitor on-screen activities.

Users can generate new emojis by typing a description or create images through Image Playground. Apple also shared that users can search for specific images by typing a description or pinpoint a particular moment within a video, with the option to compile a collection of movies.

Siri has become more intuitive, context-aware, and personalised. You can also type your commands, and Siri's expanded knowledge base is designed to help troubleshoot issues and perform tasks on the iPhone 16. Additionally, Siri now better understands on-screen content, allowing it to reference images or videos you’re viewing.

Apple Intelligence will debut as a beta in the US this fall, with localized English versions arriving in various markets by December. Support for additional languages like Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish is planned for 2025.
