Apple Classical Music App Is Now Available On Android

Apple Music or Apple One subscription users can now use the Apple Music Classical app on Android devices as it has become available on the official Google Play Store. First discovered by 9to5Mac, the app currently has more than 5 million tracks along with over 50 million data points with data attributes of more than 20,000 composers, more than 115,000 unique works and over 350,000 movements.

The app includes ad-free classical music recordings with up to 192 kHz / 24-bit lossless audio, as well as thousands of recordings that support spatial audio.

However, there is a difference between Apple Music and Apple Music Classical apps -- the difference is how Apple Music Classical handles metadata.

The iPhone maker bought the classical music streaming service Primephonic two years back and announced plans to launch a classical music app in the future. Apple Music Classical first appeared on the iPhone earlier in March 2023. Notably, the app's Android release precedes the release of an optimised app for iPad and Mac.

Apple has recently announced pulling the plug on the "My Photo Stream" service in July, thus, meaning users who are still using this feature will need to migrate to iCloud Photos before that date. My Photo Stream is a free service that uploads the last 30 days of images (up to 1,000) to iCloud, making them accessible on the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and PC.

Meanwhile, the tech giant is set to host its annual WWDC developers conference, which will begin on June 5 and run through June 9. According to the WWDC 2023 schedule, Apple will start the keynote on June 5 at 10 am PT or 10:30 pm IST. The Cupertino, California-based tech giant is likely to announce its next iOS iteration, iOS 17, macOS 14, watchOS 10, its much-awaited AR/VR headset, and hardware, including a 15-inch MacBook Air, among others.

Apple says the "biggest and most exciting WWDC23" to date launches with a first look at exciting updates coming to its platforms later this year. The WWDC keynote address will be available via apple.com, the Apple Developer app, the Apple TV app, and YouTube, with on-demand playback available after the conclusion of the stream.
