Google has unveiled a brand new look and logo for Android and Android will be spelt with a capital A now, instead of an all-lowercase format. The Android brand has undergone several updates to modernise its look and feel and evolve with the needs of our community in the past decade. In 2019 Android logo was changed in order to be more accessible and easier to read and now, it adds more weight to the logo and makes it look prominent next to the Google logo.

The refreshed Android logo with the robot face has a three-dimensional look now. The bugdroid — the face and most identifiable element of the Android robot — now appears with more dimension and a lot more character.

Google says it wanted the bugdroid to appear as dynamic as Android itself.

"Our new visuals draw inspiration from Material design to complement the Google brand palette, as well as be adaptable. The refreshed and dynamic robot shows up where Android connects with people, community and cultural moments. It can reflect individual passions, personality and context," Jason Fournier, Director, Android Consumer Brand Management, Google, wrote in a blog post.

With this update, the tech giant is also introducing subtle changes that help connect Android to Google. In addition to moving away from the longstanding lowercase stylisation of “android,” Google is elevating the Android logo by capitalising the “A,” adding more weight to its appearance when placed next to Google’s logo.

"While we’ve added more curves and personality unique to Android, the new Android stylization more closely mirrors Google’s logo and creates balance between the two. We hope these small but significant updates to the Android typeface will better communicate the relationship between Android devices and the Google apps and services people already know," Fournier added.
