According to ANI, Rain lashes several parts of Tamil Nadu.
Earlier, the IMD predicted that heavy rain would likely occur at isolated places over Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Dindigul, Theni, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Kanyakumari districts.
IMD also forecast the likelihood of light to moderate rainfall across several areas in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph at isolated spots.
On the reason for the rainfall, the IMD said, "A Trough/Wind Discontinuity runs from Marathwada to Comorin area across Interior Karnataka and Kerala at 0.9 km above mean sea level. Yesterday’s cyclonic circulation over South Kerala & neighbourhood now lies over Southeast Arabian Sea off Kerala coast at 1.5 km above mean sea level."
In Chennai, IMD predicted partly cloudy skies with the possibility of light to moderate rainfall in certain areas. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 35-36°C, while minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 28-29°C.
