Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Thursday thanking Prime Minister Modi said that he is very hopeful that the demands of the people of Tamil Nadu will be met. PM Modi on Thursday visited Chennai and laid foundation stones and inaugurated several development projects worth over Rs 31,000 crore.
After the visit, TN CM Stalin in a tweet said, "I thank our Hon'ble PM Thiru @narendramodi who laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several development initiatives to propel the growth of Tamil Nadu."
"I am very hopeful that the demands I placed on behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu will be met," he said.

On Friday, Stalin placed multiple demands before the Prime Minister during his visit.
Stalin demanded PM to get back Katchatheevu Island from Sri Lanka and to help Tamil Nadu fishermen from venturing into the sea without any fear in the Indian waters.

The CM then demanded to provide an exemption from NEET to Tamil Nadu. The CM also appealed to the state government to return GST dues of Rs 14,006 crore. Lastly, he urged the PM to make Tamil as the official language of Madras High Court.
Meanwhile, PM Modi in his speech said, Tamil language is eternal and Tamil culture is global.
In a tweet, PM Modi said, "From Chennai to Canada, from Madurai to Malaysia, from Namakkal to New York and from Salem to South Africa, the occasions of Pongal and Puthandu are marked with great fervour."
